Don’t Act like Everyone Else!¡No Actúes como Todos los Demás!
Every time I start a photography workshop, I say this to my students: “Friends, nowadays, the Internet and social media can turn an unknown amateur into a super-popular and world-famous photographer. But there’s one problem: it’s a dream for EVERYONE!”

I believe this is exactly the reason why the best thing you can do to grow and gain popularity is to learn to be different, to take photos that will be recognizable without any references and captions. These photos have to stand out for the combination of your unique style and material presentation.
Yes, I know this may sound difficult. So true!
But you always have a choice:
- Act like everyone else and be an ordinary photographer. This is a way to depreciate your art. This is a monotonous routine that doesn’t outline huge opportunities in the near future. In this, of course, you can’t count on a rich artistic life and large income;
- Try to make every photo different from what other photographers do; to regularly search for your own self - your vision, style and presentation. If you learn to do things differently, your photos will be better, more interesting, more stylish, more emotional than 95% of photographers have to offer. This will provide unlimited opportunities for growth and development both in terms of art, and in terms of money.
Before you plan a new photoshoot, ask yourself what will make it different from other photos with the same plot. What will make viewers WOW while browsing the photos?
For instance, if you plan to film the model on the seashore, think about how to make these photos unique and extraordinary, to make them convey the mood, emotions and plot. These photos have to compare favorably with other photoshoots made in the same location. And this should happen every time.
You can make your artistic nature work instead of following the beaten track. This will be the start of a long artistic journey...
Cada vez que comienzo un taller de fotografía, les digo esto a mis alumnos: “Amigos, hoy en día, Internet y las redes sociales pueden convertir a un aficionado desconocido en un fotógrafo súper popular y mundialmente famoso. Pero hay un problema: ¡es un sueño para TODOS!”

Creo que esta es exactamente la razón por la que lo mejor que puedes hacer para crecer y ganar popularidad es aprender a ser diferente, a tomar fotografías que sean reconocibles sin referencias ni leyendas. Estas fotografías deben destacarse por la combinación de su estilo único y la presentación del material.
Sí, sé que esto puede parecer difícil. ¡Tan verdadero!
Pero siempre tienes una opción:
- Actúa como todos los demás y sé un fotógrafo normal y corriente. Esta es una forma de depreciar tu arte. Esta es una rutina monótona que no vislumbra grandes oportunidades en el futuro cercano. En esto, por supuesto, no se puede contar con una vida artística rica y grandes ingresos;
- Intenta que cada foto sea diferente de lo que hacen otros fotógrafos; buscar regularmente su propio yo: su visión, estilo y presentación. Si aprendes a hacer las cosas de manera diferente, tus fotografías serán mejores, más interesantes, más elegantes y más emotivas que las que el 95% de los fotógrafos tienen para ofrecer. Esto brindará oportunidades ilimitadas de crecimiento y desarrollo tanto en términos de arte como de dinero.
Antes de planificar una nueva sesión de fotos, pregúntate qué la diferenciará de otras fotos con la misma trama. ¿Qué hará que los espectadores se sorprendan mientras exploran las fotos?
Por ejemplo, si planeas filmar a la modelo en la orilla del mar, piensa en cómo hacer que estas fotografías sean únicas y extraordinarias, para que transmitan el estado de ánimo, las emociones y la trama. Estas fotografías deben compararse favorablemente con otras sesiones de fotos realizadas en el mismo lugar. Y esto debería suceder siempre.
Puedes hacer que tu naturaleza artística funcione en lugar de seguir los caminos trillados. Este será el comienzo de un largo viaje artístico...
