The USSR used to take pride in its heavy industry. Huge plants across the country, equipped with the most advanced machines of those time, were able to perform any government orders. These plants employed hundreds of thousands of people; cities were built around them. But the country collapsed. Plants stopped working. For over two decades, they've been abandoned. Today, they are used mainly as locations for photoshoots and movies.
