Taking a small plate, Victoria carefully selected the largest and ripest berries and placed them on them. Then she carefully rinsed them under cool water to remove dust and earth residue from them. The droplets of water running down the berries seemed to her to be real gems, reflecting the sun's bright light and adding extra sparkle and freshness to them.
