Oh, watermelons! They’ve always been the greatest delight of the late summer. A real watermelon season started in August, when heat reached its peak. The leaves of withered acacias were covered with heavy dust. These days, the greenery on melon fields was burning out. Watermelons were ripening on the red-hot, cracked ground and spread a spicy sweet fragrance.
